Trades 2 - Roofer & Caulker

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus, Vancouver, BC, Canada; onsite role

Salary: $7,186.00–$7,666.00 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Construct, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair roofs using shingles, EPDM membranes, built-up asphalt and gravel, slate, clay, concrete tiles, and other recognized roofing materials.
• Repair and install caulking around expansion joints, flashings, masonry, concrete, frames, and skylights.
• Inspect roofs, respond to emergency roof-leak call-outs, and prepare repair or replacement recommendations.
• Prepare repair and replacement cost estimates and obtain the required materials and equipment.
• Communicate with customers and maintain safe work practices in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Provide training, monitoring, and work checks for apprentices or labourers when assigned.

Requirements

• Journeyperson-level trade certification as a Roofer.
• Minimum five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s Licence.
• Working knowledge of relevant industrial safety regulations and building codes.
• Ability to work independently from written instructions and specifications, as well as collaboratively with tradespeople.
• Effective communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer-service skills, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
