What you will do

• Develop engineering systems for ESA optical stations.
• Define technical specifications and system interfaces.
• Perform design reviews and manage acceptance tests.
• Support ESA technology development activities.
• Implement quantum communication systems with a focus on QKD.

Requirements

• Experience in optical communication systems.
• Expertise in free-space quantum optical communication systems.
• Experience with QKD system implementation.
• Must meet requirements to obtain European security clearance up to level Secret (ESA PL4).
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Darmstadt, Germany.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Twin-field QKD and advanced quantum protocols.
• Experience with entanglement-based quantum systems.
• Understanding of quantum security concepts and cryptographic implications.
