TL;DR
Senior Backend Engineer (Python/Java): Building and maintaining high-performance web applications, microservices, and internal integrations for fintech operations with an accent on asynchronous backend development, REST APIs, data integrity, and operational automation. Focus on designing scalable services, optimizing PostgreSQL schemas and queries, translating business challenges into technical roadmaps, and supporting the full software development lifecycle.

What you will do
- Identify operational challenges and translate them into technical roadmaps that improve company-wide efficiency.
- Design and maintain high-performance web applications and microservices using Python, FastAPI, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Architect internal services and REST integrations with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Bridge technical and business teams by explaining technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Research and adopt tools and methodologies to automate manual processes and address business pain points.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, including discovery, schema design, deployment, and Unix-based operational support.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Python and/or Java.
- Deep knowledge of modern asynchronous frameworks, preferably FastAPI.
- Experience building integrated web applications with REST APIs, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of MVC architecture and REST best practices.
- Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with Unix/Linux, Docker, Git, and GitLab CI/CD.
Nice to have
- Fintech industry experience.
- Familiarity with Treasury Management, KYC, or AML systems.
- Experience building and scaling internal business automation tools.
- Interest in developments across the Python and DevOps ecosystems.
