What you will do

• Oversee, coordinate, and monitor underwriting team activities and results to ensure accurate, quality work and strong production/service standards.
• Own team profitability and production performance against budget.
• Schedule, prioritize, and distribute underwriting workflow to meet deadlines.
• Partner with Underwriters to up-sell and cross-sell coverage enhancements and additional lines of business for existing accounts.
• Recommend and implement procedural changes; stay current on industry and pricing changes affecting underwriting output.
• Arbitrate problems between agents, insureds, or other departments; provide technical guidance and conduct agency visits as required.

Requirements

• Broad commercial underwriting technical background.
• 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience (preferred).
• 3-4 years of experience in rating, inspections, and claims (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and good analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing.
