What you will do

• Monitor and maintain mechanical equipment including heat pumps, boilers, air handlers, and pumps.
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as minor plumbing and light replacement.
• Oversee third-party contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation.
• Respond to fire alarms as a key member of the site fire response team.
• Manage work orders and communicate status updates via a central call center.
• Prepare quotation letters for chargeable tenant services and generate monthly reports.

Requirements

• Certificate of Building Environmental Systems (Operator Class 1 & 2), SMT, or Stationary Engineer (4th/5th Class) or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance within commercial, laboratory, or industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS, and valid First Aid and CPR training.
• Knowledge of Provincial Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and Provincial Fire Code.
• Computer literacy; experience with CMMS is considered an asset.
