What you will do

• Operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment to control flow and processing.
• Monitor control panels and adjust valves and gates manually or remotely to regulate sewage flow.
• Start and stop pumps, engines, and generators for filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion.
• Collect sewage samples and conduct laboratory tests using specialized equipment such as colorimeters.
• Maintain operational logs and record meter readings.
• Provide directions to sewage-disposal workers regarding routine operations and maintenance.

Requirements

• Must have at least 3 years of experience in operating water and/or wastewater systems.
• Required: MD Water Treatment (class T) and/or MD Wastewater Treatment (Class W5) licenses (or equivalent with ability to acquire required licenses within 6 months).
• Thorough experience with Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) water systems operations, maintenance, and reporting.
• English: C1 level required (must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand).
• Must be able to pass a government background check.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice to have

• Class D1 Distribution System License.
