Construction Manager (Flood Control)

What you will do

• Manage flood control construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout.
• Direct and coordinate contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
• Serve as the primary field representative and technical resource for construction-related engineering decisions.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality, and safety performance while mitigating potential risks.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, utility companies, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in heavy civil, water resources, flood control, drainage, or transportation construction.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Houston, Texas.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to perform physical demands of field work in various outdoor weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience managing TxDOT-related projects.
• Specialized experience in detention basins, levees, or channel improvements.
