Senior Power Supply Engineer (SMPS)

What you will do

• Design stand-alone and embedded power supplies for indoor and outdoor CATV equipment from concept through production.
• Perform electrical, thermal, and design verification testing throughout power supply development.
• Develop models, breadboards, and prototypes for switching-mode power supply designs.
• Provide sustaining engineering support for existing power supplies.
• Support component engineering, manufacturing, supply chain activities, and alternate supplier qualification.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of engineering experience designing SMPS using Forward, Flyback, Buck, Boost, or similar circuit topologies.
• Experience designing and specifying magnetic components for SMPS designs.
• Experience designing digital and analog power supply interfaces and controls.
• Experience mitigating power supply input and output noise.
• In-depth knowledge of discrete semiconductors and passive components, plus electrical modeling and simulation programs.
• Familiarity with power supply EMC and safety requirements, CATV HFC equipment, and strong communication skills.
