Senior Staff Power Electronics Engineer

What you will do

• Develop complex power conversion architectures, voltage regulation solutions, and electrical power subsystems across multiple programs.
• Evaluate efficiency, thermal management, magnetics, switching topologies, component selection, and electrical performance.
• Lead design reviews, technical evaluations, integration, laboratory testing, hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, verification, and qualification activities.
• Guide verification planning, qualification testing, root-cause investigations, engineering changes, and design validation.
• Serve as a primary technical resource while collaborating with electrical, systems, mechanical, FPGA, software, manufacturing, quality, and test teams.
• Mentor engineers and improve power electronics design practices, verification methods, engineering processes, configuration management, manufacturability, and reliability.

Requirements

• Eligibility to work with United States Government space technology under applicable export regulations is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, electronics engineering, or a related field with 12–15 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 8–12 years or a PhD with 5–8 years of related experience.
• Advanced experience with power electronics, power conversion, analog circuits, electrical power systems, thermal management, magnetics, power semiconductor devices, testing, qualification, and verification.
• Experience solving highly complex power electronics problems and guiding technical decisions across multiple development efforts.
• Experience with circuit simulation, power electronics design, and analysis tools such as LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, or Altium Designer.
• Experience with engineering analysis, configuration management, and collaboration tools such as Windchill, Git, or Jira, plus advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
