Staff Hardware Engineer (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded electronic hardware systems.
• Define system and hardware requirements, design specifications, verification plans, acceptance criteria, and lifecycle traceability.
• Provide technical leadership for complex programs involving multiple subsystems and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Lead hardware design involving microprocessors, microcontrollers, analog and digital circuitry, communication interfaces, and power electronics.
• Direct design reviews, component selection, DFMEA/FMEA, risk assessments, root-cause investigations, and resolution of technical issues.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, sourcing, supplier quality, and operations teams while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Seven or more years of experience designing analog and digital electronic systems.
• Experience leading complex product development programs involving multiple subsystems and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, hardware architecture, system integration, communication protocols, and power electronics.
• Experience with design reviews, DFMEA/FMEA, root-cause analysis, EMC compliance, and engineering best practices.
• Working knowledge of UL, CSA, IEC, FCC, and CE regulatory and product safety standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
• Experience reviewing layouts for signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Experience developing technology roadmaps, evaluating emerging technologies, managing product lifecycle considerations, and mentoring engineering talent.
