What you will do

• Lead, grow, and retain the engineering team responsible for APFM.com and related web properties.
• Own delivery for the Web platform by planning sprints, managing scope, and removing blockers.
• Partner with Product, Design, SEO, and Content teams to translate roadmap priorities into engineering work.
• Uphold engineering standards for code quality, performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility (WCAG), and security.
• Drive technical architecture decisions in collaboration with staff and principal engineers.
• Foster a culture of accountability and growth through 1:1s and career development planning.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2–3 years in an engineering management role.
• Experience scaling consumer-facing web products using React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Proficiency with GraphQL and API-driven architectures.
• Must be based in the US (E-Verify used for employment eligibility).
• Strong track record of delivering high-traffic consumer web experiences in product-led environments.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Deep familiarity with SEO fundamentals and Core Web Vitals optimization.
• Experience with headless CMS platforms like Sanity or Contentful.
• Background in high-traffic marketplaces or SaaS-consumer hybrid products.
• Exposure to data and analytics tooling such as PostHog or Databricks.
• Experience partnering with AI/ML teams to implement model-powered features.
