Project Engineer (Electrical)

Location: Must be based in Houston, TX (Full-time in office, with bi-weekly WFH Fridays)

What you will do

• Draft and iterate on site and electrical plans for customer projects using Autodesk.
• Collaborate with utilities, engineers, and electrical contractors to finalize design requirements.
• Develop specifications and layouts for medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) components.
• Manage site design packages for multiple concurrent projects in the deployment pipeline.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost and lead time through design optimization.
• Support procurement of electrical bills of materials and ensure deliverables meet project timelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a utility engineer or large load developer.
• Strong electrical design competency in medium-voltage distribution and substation design.
• Proficiency in Autodesk drafting tools to produce and iterate on site plans.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (experience may substitute).
• Must be willing to work in the Houston office full-time.

Nice to have

• Experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure design industries.
• Familiarity with transformer or switchgear design and deployment.
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous engineering projects from design through implementation.
