Senior / Staff Research Engineer, Simulation Assets & Content Systems (AI)

Location: Must be based in the US or Canada (Hybrid in Toronto, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, or Remote)

What you will do

• Architect and own end-to-end asset pipelines from raw sensor logs to simulation-ready representations (3DGS, NeRF, mesh).
• Design schemas, formats, and storage for heterogeneous asset libraries, managing compression, streaming, and cross-renderer interop.
• Build tooling and visualization systems for inspecting, comparing, and curating assets at a scale of tens of thousands of items.
• Integrate cutting-edge research in neural rendering and generative AI (diffusion, world-models) into the production pipeline.
• Collaborate with autonomy and safety teams to ensure asset catalogs meet diversity and realism demands for evaluation.

Requirements

• Experience shipping production-quality software at scale that other engineers depend on daily.
• Track record of building large-scale 3D content pipelines (ingestion, validation, serving) for graphics, simulation, or robotics.
• Fluency in modern 3D representations, including Mesh, OpenUSD, NeRF, and 3D Gaussian Splatting.
• Experience designing and debugging GPU jobs in the cloud (AWS, GCP) with a focus on throughput and cost optimization.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and at least one native systems language (C++ or Rust).
• Must be located in the United States or Canada.
