Applications Engineer, Autonomy (open level)

Location: Hybrid in San Diego, California; Dallas, Texas; or Washington, DC. The role requires approximately 50% travel, including international, multi-week on-site customer engagements.

What you will do

• Deploy with customers globally to support software integration and development.
• Use the Hivemind enterprise software stack and autonomy modules as a technical expert.
• Develop AI and autonomy applications with the enterprise software development kit.
• Provide customer support, technical training, and assistance with software and API integration issues.
• Support pre-sales activities such as demonstrations, conferences, and customer immersions.
• Document solutions, maintain training materials, and collaborate with product engineering on customer feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years in integration or applications engineering.
• 2+ years of experience working in a startup environment.
• Strong software engineering background and strong proficiency in modern C++.
• Intermediate Python proficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense aviation or robotics.
• Experience building and running a small enterprise software or solutions engineering team.
• Advanced technical degree in robotics, autonomy, or a related field.
