Senior Simulation Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, CA; hybrid

Company

Builds autonomous vehicle technology and simulation infrastructure for autonomy development and safety validation.

What you will do

• Design and build AI agentic workflows that analyze simulation results, identify failures, and surface root causes across large-scale test runs.
• Architect scalable simulation pipelines, metric evaluation frameworks, and data analysis systems for road-test and simulation data.
• Identify, quantify, and reduce simulation-to-real-world divergence across actor behaviors, sensor models, and system dynamics.
• Monitor and improve platform performance, scalability, testing, and reliability.
• Collaborate with simulation, onboard, systems engineering, and data science teams to reproduce and resolve road-test issues.
• Contribute to long-term system architecture and ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and quality policies.

Requirements

• MS with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience building LLM-powered or agentic workflows for data analysis, evaluation, or automation.
• Experience quantifying or improving simulation fidelity and closing the sim-to-real gap.
• Proficiency in Python or C++, with experience building scalable data processing systems or evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to solve open-ended technical challenges and collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicle or robotics simulation.
• Familiarity with LLM agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph and prompt/tool orchestration patterns.
• Experience developing metrics, user-facing APIs, or interfaces between system components.
