What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial contracts, including EPC agreements, equipment purchase, and power purchase agreements.
• Identify and manage legal risks in commercial transactions, proposing actionable solutions.
• Serve as a legal partner to business development, procurement, construction, and finance teams.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms to accelerate business velocity.
• Support real estate transactions, including lease agreements, easements, and financing documents.
• Manage outside counsel relationships and support the development of internal legal workflows.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Must be based in or able to work from Houston, TX (unless an exceptional exception is granted).
• 2-4 years of commercial transactional experience in a law firm or in-house environment.
• Experience negotiating contracts in construction, energy, real estate, or infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate legal complexity into plain business language.
• Ability to operate with high ownership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, or energy regulatory matters.
• Background in EPC or construction contract negotiation.
• Prior in-house experience at a high-growth startup or infrastructure company.
• Familiarity with data center development, hyperscale leasing, or AI infrastructure.
• Exposure to M&A, project finance, or real estate transactions.
