What you will do

• Design and implement robust server solutions, including replication strategies, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain and support server technologies across virtualized (VMware, Hyper-V) and non-virtualized environments.
• Perform in-depth system analysis of I/O performance, architecture, and workload optimization.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including configuration standards and operational procedures.
• Execute operating system upgrades and system enhancements according to change management policies.
• Improve system efficiency and reduce manual workload using process orchestration and automation tools.

Requirements

• Proven experience in server administration and engineering within enterprise IT environments.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, ESXi, or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Strong proficiency in both Linux and Windows server environments.
• Experience designing redundant and fault-tolerant systems and business continuity planning.
• Proficiency in automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Must be located in the DC Metro Area.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting government or federal IT systems.
• Knowledge of ITIL, NIST 800-53, and other compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments like AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
• Experience implementing CMMI-level process improvements.
