Sr Software Engineer, PBM Platform (Go/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Design and deliver core platform components for pharmacy benefits, coverage, pricing, and member cost-sharing.
• Own technical initiatives end-to-end, shaping architecture, defining technical direction, and driving delivery across workstreams.
• Develop gRPC APIs using NestJS or Go with PostgreSQL for persistence and Protocol Buffers for communication.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and establishing coding standards.
• Drive AI-native development practices by establishing workflows and sharing best practices for AI tooling.
• Manage system observability using Datadog and Sentry, employing test-driven development (TDD).

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Strong backend depth in TypeScript and/or Go, specifically building services for complex business logic or rules engines.
• Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and normalization trade-offs.
• Experience with service-oriented architectures and the complexities of distributed systems.
• Ability to decompose product objectives into shippable engineering work independently.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs and writing clear documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare or pharmacy benefits systems (NCPDP, GPI, NDC).
• Experience building financial calculation engines or rules engines.
• PostgreSQL performance tuning, migrations, and query optimization.
• Expertise in leading AI-assisted development workflows.
