Senior Network Architect (Network Engineering): Leading the design, modernization, and advanced engineering of complex, multi-site network environments for a Naval Air Warfare Center customer with an accent on secure communications and RDT&E enterprise networks. Focus on architecting CSfC solutions, optimizing high-throughput data pathways, and ensuring compliance with DoD security standards.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Lexington Park, MD (Hybrid: 1-2 days on-site)

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and optimization of enterprise-scale network solutions across multi-site RDT&E environments.
• Architect and manage Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) capability packages for secure multi-site connectivity.
• Modernize data transmission pathways, WAN/LAN topologies, and high-throughput routing protocols.
• Provide senior technical guidance on emerging networking technologies, cloud integrations, and framework alignment.
• Ensure network designs comply with DoD STIGs, RMF, and NSA guidelines.
• Lead tier-3/4 escalation support and root-cause analysis for geographically dispersed nodes.

Requirements

• Must possess a current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
• 15+ years of direct experience in network architecture supporting DoD RDT&E Enterprise networks.
• Expertise in multi-site connectivity, WAN routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS), and enterprise VPNs.
• Experience designing and deploying CSfC architecture and encryption solutions.
• Direct experience supporting NAWCAD infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN), SD-WAN, and zero-trust network architecture (ZTNA).
• Familiarity with DISA Cloud Access Points (CAP) and hybrid-cloud network integrations (AWS/Azure).
• IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security).
• Vendor certifications such as CCIE or CCNP.
