Engineering Manager (Governance Intelligence)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; San Francisco, California, or Seattle, Washington. Employees must be on U.S. soil and qualify as a U.S. person.

Annual base salary: $204,000–$281,000 in San Francisco or $182,000–$250,000 in Bellevue/Seattle.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of ML specialists and engineers delivering intelligence features for Identity Governance and Administration.
• Design and maintain backend services, frontend interfaces, distributed systems, and complex API integrations.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks measuring factuality, relevance, task completion, and production quality.
• Own the AI product lifecycle from problem framing and data curation through training, A/B testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Architect and operate cloud and on-premises infrastructure that meets stringent federal security standards.
• Drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, reliability, documentation, technical debt, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management.
• Hands-on expertise with Java, Python, or TypeScript; REST or gRPC APIs; and UI automation such as Playwright or Selenium.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform.
• Deep expertise in scalable backend architecture, secure enterprise software, modern web technologies, and authentication and authorization.
• Fullstack proficiency, including the ability to build robust TypeScript or JavaScript frontends.
• Must work on U.S. soil and qualify as a U.S. person; working on a U.S. visa does not qualify.

Nice to have

• Experience building and scaling AI infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
• Experience with Identity Governance and Administration, including access requests, certifications, entitlement management, separation of duties, or role modeling.
• Experience with SSO, SCIM provisioning, directory integration, or privileged access management.
