What you will do

• Lead the product portfolio for Synapse.org, ensuring alignment across programs and making critical build/no-build decisions.
• Partner with the CTO to evolve long-term vision and translate it into actionable, sequenced priorities.
• Drive adoption and impact of products among researchers, institutions, and partners.
• Identify and integrate AI-powered capabilities that provide genuine value to researchers.
• Develop and scale a modest set of commercial offerings to increase ecosystem sustainability.
• Manage and mentor the product team, establishing scalable product practices and career growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in product management and leadership of enterprise portfolios.
• Proven track record of defining product vision and translating user needs into measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading product strategy within the AI landscape and delivering AI-powered products.
• Ability to influence executive leadership and align diverse stakeholders (engineering, science, business).
• Must be based in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or HCI.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial scaling (pricing, monetization) in a nonprofit or academic setting.
• Background in biomedical data, healthcare, life sciences, or data-intensive technical domains.
• Familiarity with open science and open-source software communities.
• Experience partnering with government agencies and funding organizations.
