Salary: $161,000–$221,500 annual base salary, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Define the long-term architecture and roadmap for machine learning and generative AI platforms.
• Design training, fine-tuning, low-latency inference, RAG, vector database, evaluation, and guardrail infrastructure.
• Establish standards for dataset lineage, CI/CD, automated model evaluation, red-teaming, and production monitoring.
• Partner with product, data science, security, and clinical leaders to translate healthcare goals into AI capability roadmaps.
• Mentor senior ML engineers, lead architecture reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
• Contribute hands-on through prototypes, critical-path architecture, and strategic production code.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience deploying complex ML/AI solutions in mission-critical production environments.
• Expertise in Python, RESTful API design, Protobuf, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and real-time inference services.
• Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, LLM fine-tuning, vector databases, and LLM evaluation and guardrail frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, key-value stores, distributed queues such as Celery or Kafka, and data pipeline orchestration.
• Strong experience architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Exceptional strategic communication and cross-functional technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Production engineering experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with HIPAA, SOC2, PHI, or PII in regulated environments.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or ML tooling for data scientists and engineers.
