Salary: $134,700–$207,600 (base range)

GM Defense designs, validates, and manufactures militarized commercial off-the-shelf (MILCOTS) vehicles for defense and government customers.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of multiple simultaneous MILCOTS vehicle programs from capture through delivery and sustainment using gated processes.
• Define and manage vehicle program content, including change control and cost/weight/performance trade-offs.
• Oversee vehicle integration across chassis, armor, powertrain, electrical, software, and upfit content, ensuring feasibility, manufacturability, safety, and in-service performance.
• Own program imperatives (scope, schedule, cost, resources, risk, quality) and run governance mechanisms (integrated master schedule, risk register, financial reviews, issue dashboards).
• Lead the Program Execution Team (PET) and integrate supporting functional processes into a coherent executable plan.
• Serve as primary interface to government/industry partners and represent programs in business development and capture activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, supply chain, or related business/operations disciplines.
• U.S. citizenship required to comply with federal government contract provisions and export control restrictions (U.S. Person eligibility required).
• Demonstrated program/project management leadership of complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with vehicle integration and associated validation/manufacturing challenges.
• Strong business acumen with financial tracking (budgets, forecasts, profitability management) and excellent written/verbal communication.

Nice to have

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
• Experience with special-purpose vehicle programs, armored vehicles, or government/commercial hybrid offerings.
• Proven experience leading vehicle/defense programs on commercial platforms adapted for defense/government customers.
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition frameworks and defense industry processes (portfolio planning, finance/accounting, purchasing, supply chain).
