Web Application Architect (TypeScript/AWS)

Location: Onsite in Arlington, VA

What you will do

• Architect, design, and deliver high-quality code by promoting and establishing best practices.
• Build and maintain features for the Tax Provision platform using React microfrontends, TypeScript serverless Lambdas, and NestJS.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS SAM (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, RDS, S3).
• Implement and maintain unit, integration, E2E, and performance tests using Jest, Playwright, and k6.
• Utilize AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) for precise prompting and code generation within a multi-repo codebase.
• Collaborate with product teams to evolve async job patterns, calculation service APIs, and observability via OpenTelemetry and Grafana Faro.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience building commercial applications.
• Expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node 18+), React 18, and NestJS.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL (schema management, query optimization) and Microfrontend architecture (single-spa).
• Experience with AWS (Serverless, Event Driven Architecture), GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform.
• Must be based in or able to work from Arlington, VA.

Nice to have

• Experience with MobX / MobX-State-Tree and TanStack React Query.
• Proven track record as a thought leader in Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps practices.
