Technology Product Manager (Kubernetes)

Location: On-site office-based position in Palo Alto, California, USA

Annual base salary: USD 143,800–230,000, plus discretionary bonus and equity opportunities.

What you will do

• Define and execute the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for VMware Kubernetes Service and Supervisor.
• Identify market opportunities across cloud-native infrastructure and emerging AI/ML use cases.
• Translate customer needs into product requirements, specifications, and user experience workflows with engineering and UX.
• Partner with product marketing and sales on go-to-market materials, customer adoption, and VMware Cloud Foundation deployments.
• Engage with CNCF and Kubernetes communities and represent VMware at industry forums, VMUGs, and conferences.
• Lead discovery sessions with enterprise customers and partners to validate product direction and build feedback loops.

Requirements

• Product management experience in enterprise cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, platform engineering, or virtualization.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes control plane architecture, Cluster API, scheduling, CNI/CSI, the CNCF ecosystem, and vSphere/ESXi.
• Understanding of private and public cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and modern DevOps models.
• Ability to collaborate with principal engineers and enterprise cloud architects and lead products from concept through launch.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to customers and technical audiences.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. A BS degree plus 12 years of related experience, or an MBA/MS plus 10 years of related experience, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with open-source governance and CNCF communities.
• Experience presenting at major industry conferences such as KubeCon or VMUG.
• Background in platform architectures for modern and AI/ML workloads.
