Location: Hybrid in Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA (requiring 2-3 days in office)

Salary: $140,000 - $215,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable backend services for internal and customer-facing web applications.
• Architect supporting systems including databases, real-time data pipelines, and monitoring solutions.
• Create intuitive command-line utilities and APIs that integrate with the platform ecosystem.
• Collaborate with UX/UI and Sensors teams to deliver integrated solutions with comprehensive documentation.
• Manage operational excellence through advanced monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production services.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive architectural improvements to enhance performance and user experience.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of production experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems processing high-volume data.
• Proficiency in Golang and Python for developing robust, distributed systems.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Flink, and Kafka for streaming events and batch ETL workloads.
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge, preferably with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Expertise in tuning and managing Spark and Flink at scale.
• Knowledge of graph databases and graph structures (nodes, edges, relationships).
• Experience with Cassandra and CQL wide-column databases.
• Cybersecurity industry experience or relevant certifications.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
