What you will do

• Design and architect a scalable cloud platform featuring 15+ microservices, including IAM, API Gateway, and Orchestration.
• Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and patterns across all platform services.
• Lead the technical strategy for cloud platform evolution, including technology selection and deployment architectures.
• Mentor engineering teams through code reviews and architectural guidance in microservices design.
• Drive performance optimization, scalability improvements, and reliability enhancements across the platform.
• Define and implement monitoring, observability, and alerting strategies for complex distributed systems.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with 8+ years in distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in designing large-scale cloud platforms or SaaS applications.
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in Java, Go, Python, or similar modern programming languages.
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases and eventual consistency patterns.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Jose, California, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with IAM systems and authentication/authorization frameworks.
• Knowledge of real-time data streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Background in network visualization, monitoring, or IT operations platforms.
• Open-source contributions or speaking engagements at technical conferences.
