TL;DR

Software Engineer (SDN): Designing and building the next generation of a high-performance multi-tenant cloud network with an accent on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and the Linux networking stack. Focus on creating programmable, reliable, and scalable network services, control-plane software, and automated deployment tooling.

Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue). Requires presence in office 4 days per week.

Salary: $266,000 – $395,000

What you will do

• Design and scale high-performance multi-tenant cloud networks.
• Implement SDN services and control-plane software.
• Build reproducible automation and tooling for network configuration and deployments.
• Engineer highly available network services through observability, failover, and redundancy.
• Develop network monitoring and management tools and services.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in systems, infrastructure, or networking.
• Experience designing production-scale SDN systems (e.g., routing, security groups, overlays).
• Deep understanding of the Linux networking stack (namespaces, routing, iptables/nftables, DPDK).
• Proficiency in C, Go, or Python for building network services and automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps-driven environments.
• Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue offices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and HELM for network automation.
• Familiarity with OVS, Neutron, VMware NSX, or Arista CVP.
• Knowledge of BGP EVPN VXLAN and Spine-Leaf (Clos) network topology.
• Experience with SD-WAN, DWDM, and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
