Data Engineer

TL;DR

Data Engineer: Building and maintaining scalable data systems and ETL/ELT pipelines for B2B products with an accent on data quality, validation, and cloud-based infrastructure. Location: Must be eligible to work in Canada and able to work in a hybrid model at the Oakville or Montreal office.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using distributed compute frameworks like Apache Beam and Snowpark.
• Orchestrate and optimize complex data workflows using Apache Airflow and Google Workflows.
• Manage and optimize data models across BigQuery, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.
• Implement robust data validation frameworks and proactive monitoring for system health.
• Establish CI/CD practices and write unit/integration tests for data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists to deliver scalable data solutions.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model at the Oakville or Montreal location.
• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering building production systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with experience writing clean, modular code.
• Experience deploying and managing data workloads in the cloud, preferably GCP.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-volume geospatial, weather, or time-series datasets.
• Familiarity with containerized environments like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code principles using Terraform.
