What you will do

• Translate defined benefit pension scheme rules into detailed system and calculation specifications.
• Support the development and release of changes to integrated calculation systems, applications and supporting services.
• Collaborate with developers and technical partners to explain calculation logic and expected system behaviours.
• Review system outputs and test results to ensure actuarial accuracy and fitness for purpose.
• Partner with stakeholders across Institutional Retirement, Group IT and operational teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, documentation and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• Qualified actuary or strong experience in actuarial systems and development.
• Deep knowledge of defined benefit pensions, including scheme benefits and calculation rules.
• Experience turning pension requirements into clear technical or calculation specifications.
• Confidence working with complex integrated systems, databases, and web-based applications.
• Strong analytical judgement, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Understanding of testing, change delivery, Agile, Lean, or business analysis principles.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Java, SQL or similar languages.
