Software Developer (AI)

Location: Oakville or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Flexible hybrid work model with support for both in-person and virtual work.

Annual base salary: $85,500–$105,600 CAD.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, review, and maintain clean, secure, reusable, and scalable software.
• Develop high-throughput, performance-critical applications, prototypes, minimum viable products, and proofs of concept.
• Identify improvements in existing code and architecture with guidance from senior developers and team leads.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, stakeholders, and internal technical teams on feature design, implementation, and roadmap delivery.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, edge-case analysis, and documentation.
• Contribute to technical discussions, team documentation, strategic initiatives, and a 24x7 rotating on-call schedule when applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; study in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Ability to work with high-level requirements, clarify stakeholder needs, prioritize urgent work, communicate delivery risks, and make sound trade-off decisions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and ability to understand complex technical concepts.
• Experience or willingness to work with C#, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Willingness to explore and apply AI tools to improve productivity, solve problems, and support software development.
• Availability to work in the flexible hybrid model from Oakville or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React.
• Knowledge of C# .NET Core or .NET 7+ backend systems.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, Git, cloud computing such as GCP, PostgreSQL, relational database design, and RESTful API development.
• Curiosity about large language models and AI-assisted coding platforms.
