What you will do

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the trade organization, aligning it with overall company strategy.
• Build and scale a multi-team organization, including hiring and developing engineering managers and principal engineers.
• Serve as the executive owner for trading systems reliability, performance, and risk, covering matching engines and FIX connectivity.
• Partner with the CTO and SVP Engineering to define org-wide technical standards and engineering culture.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams to ensure all trading systems meet stringent regulatory requirements.
• Direct high-level architectural trade-off decisions and build-vs-buy evaluations.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software design and development experience with a deep background in backend and distributed systems.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience, specifically managing managers and senior/staff engineers.
• Proven track record of scaling engineering organizations to 30+ engineers within fintech, trading, or crypto sectors.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience developing low-latency trading systems, including CLOBs and matching engines.
• Expertise in high-concurrency development using C++, Rust, or Go to achieve single-digit microsecond latency.
• Proficiency with FIX Protocol (4.2+) and messaging frameworks such as Aeron, Kafka, or ZeroMQ.

Nice to have

• Cloud computing experience, with AWS highly preferred.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
