What you will do

• Set up and operate Matsuura MAM72 5-axis horizontal machining centres.
• Manufacture complex components using aluminium, titanium, and stainless steel.
• Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Monitor tool wear and perform necessary offsets and tool changes.
• Maintain accurate production and traceability records while supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating Matsuura MAM72 or similar 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Strong background in aerospace manufacturing and machining principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience machining to tight tolerances and demanding surface finish requirements.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials including aluminium, titanium, and stainless steel.

Nice to have

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds qualification.
• Experience working within an AS9100 environment.
• Familiarity with Fanuc-based controls.
• Experience with multi-pallet or lights-out manufacturing.
• Crane and lifting equipment certification.
