What you will do

• Set up and operate a Matsuura MAM72 5-axis horizontal machining centre.
• Load programs, fixtures, tooling and components according to engineering instructions.
• Machine complex aerospace components from aluminium, titanium, stainless steel and other aerospace-grade alloys.
• Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and height gauges.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements while monitoring tool wear and making offsets or tool changes.
• Maintain production and traceability records, support continuous improvement, and follow quality, safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating a Matsuura MAM72 or similar 5-axis CNC machining centre.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing and strong knowledge of CNC machining principles.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and manufacture parts to tight tolerances and demanding surface-finish requirements.
• Experience machining aluminium alloys, titanium and stainless steels.
• Experience with precision inspection equipment, troubleshooting and problem-solving, with strong attention to detail and quality.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience working in an AS9100 environment.
• Familiarity with Fanuc-based controls, multi-pallet or lights-out manufacturing.
• Crane and lifting equipment certification.
