R&D Engineer (Waste-to-Energy)

What you will do

• Develop and test new technologies at the process, machine, and sensor levels.
• Optimize and integrate control algorithms and logic diagrams.
• Analyze plant data to extract trends and define statistical KPIs.
• Execute hands-on subprojects and on-site instrumentation installation.
• Translate analytical findings into actionable engineering initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and validate prototype setups in operational environments.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline (process, automation, mechanical).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in engineering, automation, or applied R&D (TRL 6+).
• Strong understanding of process design, mechanics, chemistry, physics, and thermodynamics.
• Solid knowledge of the automation landscape, including PLC, network communication, and instrumentation.
• Proven experience in structuring and managing complex R&D projects.
• Must be able to travel to sites across Europe (~15% of the time).
