Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Renens VD, Switzerland; office-based position in Switzerland

What you will do

• Support the full technical development of satellite missions from early concept and requirements through launch and in-orbit commissioning.
• Plan technical activities, schedules, costs, budgets, risks, opportunities, and resolution plans.
• Manage functional analysis, concept of operations, mission analysis, system modes, specification trees, requirements, interfaces, and engineering databases.
• Oversee subsystem and software design, interface control, technical assessments, trade-offs, baseline definition, and change control.
• Plan and follow system, spacecraft, and Ground Segment development and validation through AIV/T, launch, and in-orbit commissioning.
• Maintain engineering documentation and contribute to the company-wide systems engineering process.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Physics, or a similar field.
• At least 8 years of experience in the spacecraft industry.
• Experience decomposing system requirements, performing trade studies, and developing sizing and error budgets for spacecraft systems.
• Familiarity with the full space program lifecycle, from business development, proposal generation, and contract negotiations through design, development, assembly, testing, and successful delivery.
• Confidence leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to track multiple critical activity streams simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: spacecraft system-level design and analysis, avionics and electronics, electrical and power systems, attitude and orbit control, propulsion, thermal and mechanical systems, spacecraft AIT, spacecraft LEOP and in-orbit operations, manufacturing processes, launcher interfaces, or FDIR.
• Experience with technical definition and design of LEO, MEO, or GEO spacecraft systems.
• Experience interacting with institutional customers such as UKSA and ESA, and with commercial customers.
