What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual tests for Kafka producers, consumers, and event flows.
• Execute manual and exploratory testing when automation is not feasible.
• Integrate automated regression, smoke, and integration test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Validate event semantics including message ordering, delivery guarantees, idempotency, and exactly-once/at-least-once behavior.
• Perform resilience and failure-mode testing (broker failures, consumer lag, retries, dead-letter handling, replay scenarios).
• Collaborate with Product and Development on quality gates, acceptance criteria, event schemas, and bug triage/reproduction.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of software quality assurance experience with a senior-level hands-on track record in fintech.
• Hands-on testing experience with Kafka or comparable event-streaming platforms.
• Strong API testing knowledge (REST) and experience with microservices/event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on test automation experience with Selenium and Playwright using TypeScript.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated test integration (GitHub Actions), plus practical tooling experience (Postman/Newman, Charles Proxy, Xray or similar).

Nice to have

• Fintech/financial services testing experience (financial accuracy, transactional data, regulatory compliance).
• Performance and security testing experience.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards (KYC/AML).
• Experience with schema registries and contract testing tools for event-driven architectures.
