TL;DR

HSE Site Manager (Wind Energy): Managing health, safety, and environment standards for windfarm projects across the UK and Ireland with an accent on project startup, risk assessment, and subcontractor compliance. Focus on ensuring consistent safety standards across site compounds, coordinating heavy lifting operations, and managing incident investigations.

Location: Must be based in or be able to work at sites across the UK and Ireland (rotational 3 weeks on / 1 week off).

What you will do

  • Create project-specific HSE documentation based on company standards and pre-construction information.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure risk assessments and method statements are suitable for project delivery.
  • Oversee the establishment of site compounds to ensure all HSE aspects are ready for operational delivery.
  • Investigate incidents, prepare official reports, and implement corrective measures to eliminate root causes.
  • Lead project HSE meetings and coordinate PC/PSCS requirements where contractually necessary.
  • Provide safety advice to the wider team and support the onboarding of new HSE professionals.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in HSE management within a construction environment, preferably in the wind industry.
  • Health and Safety qualification (Level 6 preferred).
  • Practical experience in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, including heavy lifting and working at height.
  • Ability to pass a medical exam and a high comfort level with working at heights.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to build relationships with partners across the European division.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
