TL;DR

Senior Lighting TD (VFX): Developing photorealistic lighting and rendering for film and television projects with an accent on integrating CG elements with live-action plates. Location: Hybrid in Montreal, Quebec. Must be based in the province of Quebec and hold a valid Canadian work authorization.

What you will do

• Apply lighting rigs and HDRI setups to scenes, adjusting shaders and lighting levels to ensure realism and consistency with live-action plates.
• Collaborate with Texture and Look Development artists to resolve technical issues and optimize scenes for efficient rendering.
• Partner with compositors to provide all necessary render passes and layers.
• Execute shot lighting from start to finish using Gaffer and Arnold, following the direction of the Head of Lighting and CG Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot render issues and communicate technical progress and solutions to management.
• Manage individual workload accurately to ensure project schedules are maintained.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in photorealistic CG lighting within live-action environments.
• Expert proficiency with Katana and Gaffer.
• Solid understanding of rendering processes using Arnold.
• Deep knowledge of the full VFX pipeline, from modeling and animation to texturing and compositing.
• Must reside in the province of Quebec.
• Must hold a valid Canadian work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with compositing in Nuke.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Basic shader writing skills.
