What you will do

• Develop SQL queries and dbt models to transform operational data into analysis-ready models.
• Build and maintain self-service dashboards for engineering productivity, AI adoption, and reliability.
• Define and standardize engineering metrics, including DORA definitions like change-failure-rate and cycle time.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify root causes of data anomalies and business insights.
• Implement data quality tests and monitoring using dbt tests and Monte Carlo.
• Integrate data from APIs and third-party tools into Snowflake for analytics and AI enrichment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in analytics delivering metrics that drive business decisions.
• Proven proficiency in SQL for complex queries and data transformation.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
• Experience with BI or dashboarding tools like Tableau or Looker.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to executive-level audiences.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python for data modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub PR workflows, code review, and CI/CD.
• Experience with data quality monitoring tools like Monte Carlo.
• Fluency with modern AI tooling (Claude, GPT, MCP servers) and AI-assisted workflows.
• Knowledge of engineering productivity metrics and incident management KPIs.
