Salary: $96,267–$126,351 USD annually, plus performance-based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles

What you will do

• Define and optimize lentiviral vector upstream processes from shake flasks through bioreactors up to 40 liters.
• Execute viral vector production workflows for in-vivo CAR-T applications, including transient transfection and stable cell line optimization.
• Develop media, feeding, and process control strategies to improve yield, quality, scalability, and robustness.
• Plan, perform, analyze, and troubleshoot complex experiments with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with Molecular Biology, Downstream, Analytical, and Technical Development teams on process alignment, comparability, and technology transfer.
• Prepare technical reports, study summaries, presentations, and evidence-based recommendations while maintaining compliant laboratory documentation.

Requirements

• MS degree with 4+ years of experience or PhD degree with 1 year of prior industry experience in Bioengineering, Virology, Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in viral vector production and characterization, mammalian suspension cell culture, transient transfection, and upstream bioprocess development.
• Strong molecular biology background, including plasmid construction, PCR, qPCR, dPCR-based assays, and cell line development.
• Experience scaling upstream processes from shake flasks to bioreactors; experience up to 50 liters is preferred.
• Experience supporting gene therapy platform development, preferably with lentiviral vectors, and understanding of upstream process effects on product quality.
