Safety Technician

What you will do

• Conduct safety orientations, training, and education on safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections of work areas and support HS&E program implementation.
• Implement and support HS&E strategies including behavior-based safety, compliance auditing, safety management systems, process safety, and risk management.
• Coach and support construction field operations and supervise/administer safety activities.
• Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and execute sustainable corrective actions.
• Review and provide input on construction work plans with project managers.

Requirements

• Minimum 1–3 years of safety experience in an industrial construction setting or equivalent schooling.
• Experience with excavation, lifting and rigging, crane operations, demolition, lead/asbestos abatement, confined space, working at height, steel erection, scaffolds, and related construction processes.
• Experience with work permitting processes (working at height, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, and lock out/tag out).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills; ability to speak in front of large crowds.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety and health training.
