ESS Installation Technician

What you will do

• Interpret drawing packages and install ESS/access control and video surveillance systems accordingly.
• Perform rack/enclosure build-outs, panel terminations, device installation, and testing/troubleshooting.
• Own and maintain job schedules, coordinating timing for device and head-end work.
• Maintain daily communication with the Site Supervisor, flagging drawing/matrix issues and missing/defective equipment ASAP.
• Keep written project records in OneNote (work accomplished, issues, site readiness, inventory, redlines/RFIs as required).
• Assist other installation technicians and handle onsite decisions when working independently.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on, recent experience installing access control and video surveillance cameras in a large-scale commercial environment (preferably data centers and new construction).
• Ability to understand access control/CCTV systems, install ACS/CCTV/intercom-related equipment, and troubleshoot and fix installation issues.
• Experience with systems including Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, and DMP.
• Knowledge of mechanical retrofitting of door frames/gates for electric locking hardware and peripheral devices.
• Ability to access network interfaces for devices (access controllers, IP cameras, intercoms, switches) and perform PC admin level changes for IP camera setup/adjustment.
• Clean driving record; clean criminal record and ability to hold required local security clearance/registration (e.g., DCJS, TS Clearance).
