Director of Technology - Core Banking (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, or Virginia. Washington-based employees within reasonable driving distance of Tukwila are expected to work from headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; other approved remote locations are remote.

Target salary: $199,300–$243,800 annually. Full salary range: $155,200–$288,000 annually, with performance-based incentives available.

What you will do

• Align core banking technology strategy, business priorities, roadmaps, and investment cases.
• Lead engineering, technical requirements, and end-to-end delivery for enterprise core banking initiatives.
• Drive platform modernization across cloud, data, APIs, DevOps, architecture, automation, testing, and CI/CD.
• Manage program sequencing, cross-team dependencies, governance, delivery risks, and performance measurement.
• Lead, coach, and develop technology and delivery teams while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee vendors, implementation partners, operating plans, budgets, and strategic technology initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 7 years of people leadership experience, including leadership of technology and delivery teams.
• At least 8 years of information technology experience with application design, large-scale platforms, or program delivery.
• Experience with ERP, infrastructure and operations, core banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, deposits, or related financial products.
• Experience building technology platforms and teams, driving end-to-end delivery, and coordinating across teams.
• Must reside in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, or Virginia.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree and experience with complex cross-functional programs, dependencies, and vendor accountability.
• Core banking or financial systems implementation experience, including Fiserv/DNA.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience and knowledge of modern application architecture and enterprise platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, operations, APIs, integrations, cloud environments, and technology vendors.
