CRFM Technical Specialist (Automotive): Technical owner and SME for the condenser, radiator, and fan module subsystem across vehicle programs with an accent on thermal performance, airflow integration, and launch readiness. Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan (report to office at least 3 times a week). GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

What you will do
- Serve as the technical owner and SME for the CRFM subsystem, defining strategy, architecture, and technology direction.
- Set and own subsystem-level technical objectives for performance, mass, cost, quality, and durability.
- Technically lead sub-component Technical Specialists and DREs to ensure coordinated execution across the development cycle.
- Drive virtual analysis and coordinate CAE and simulation activities to ensure subsystem performance and integration.
- Lead technical evaluation and approval of supplier designs, validation plans, and manufacturing readiness.
- Manage subsystem DFMEAs, quality reviews, and resolve complex cross-functional technical issues.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in automotive thermal system component or subsystem development, sourcing, and production launch.
- Deep technical expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, airflow, and pressure drop tradeoffs.
- Experience managing suppliers on technical deliverables and leading cross-functional engineering execution.
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems using independent judgment and conceptual thinking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials, or a related technical discipline.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future immigration sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Expertise in heat exchanger and cooling module manufacturing processes (brazing, joining, microchannel architectures).
- Experience with HVAC and automotive heat pump systems in ICE and BEV applications.
- Knowledge of PE diagrams, refrigerants, and system-level thermal architectures.
- Experience applying AI tools to engineering productivity or issue resolution workflows.
- Master’s degree in Science or Engineering.
