Production Support Engineer

What you will do

• Provide reactive first-line support for TV production, graphics, and post-production facilities.
• Perform proactive maintenance and monitoring of on-premises hardware and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex video, audio, and broadcast technology issues using logical, methodical fault-finding.
• Create and manage support tickets to ensure timely resolution of technical incidents.
• Work a regular shift pattern covering a 7-day fortnight, including early/late rotations.
• Collaborate with the wider team to support major sporting and news productions.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK is mandatory (no sponsorship provided).
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Broadcast Engineering or Media Technologies.
• Strong understanding of broadcast TV chains, including traditional and modern IP/Cloud solutions.
• Experience with Broadcast IP standards such as SMPTE 2022, SMPTE 2110, AoIP (AES67), and PTP.
• Proven experience in a support role within Broadcast Production Engineering.
• Analytical mindset with systematic troubleshooting skills for hardware and software.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of graphics systems like VizRT or Chyron.
• Experience with standard broadcast systems (Calrec, Riedel, Grass Valley, EVS, Ross).
• Familiarity with AWS or cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience with log interrogation and editing systems like Avid or Adobe.
