Location: Must work onsite in Abingdon, UK 4+ days per week

What you will do

• Synthesize and formulate polymer materials and chemical samples for AR applications.
• Support experimental research, data collection, and processing across chemistry projects.
• Design and execute screening studies to compare candidate polymers, coatings, and additives.
• Perform reliability testing including environmental, thermal, humidity, and UV stress exposure.
• Collaborate with materials, process, optics, and reliability engineers on material performance.
• Maintain accurate lab records and adhere to safety protocols and chemical handling standards.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering degree program.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with standard synthesis or sample-preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with safe laboratory practices and chemical handling.
• Ability to collect, organize, and interpret experimental results.
• Availability for an internship placement aligned with team needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with synthesis techniques like reflux, recrystallisation, distillation, or titration.
• Experience with analytical tools such as FTIR, UV-vis, nanoindentor, or viscometers.
• Interest in augmented reality devices and consumer hardware applications.
