Data Platform Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Data Platform Engineer (Python/Cloud Infra): Building and operating the core infrastructure and lakehouse for a global AI translation platform with an accent on data ingestion, AI-powered interfaces, and system reliability. Location: Hybrid in London (required office attendance twice a week)

What you will do

• Build and evolve core data platform infrastructure, including a Databricks-based lakehouse and Kafka ingestion systems.
• Develop AI-powered data workflows, MCP connectors, and interfaces to enable humans and AI agents to access data.
• Implement data observability and quality frameworks to ensure data reliability and confidence at scale.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform/Terragrunt and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Steward developer experience by creating golden-path templates and patterns for engineers across the company.

Requirements

• Solid hands-on experience building and operating cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in writing production-quality Python code.
• Expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Terragrunt), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Reliability mindset with experience in observability, alerting, and owning systems in production.
• Platform-product mindset focused on reducing friction and improving developer experience.
• Must be based in London to support a hybrid work schedule (2 days/week in office).

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with Go or Java.
