What you will do

• Design new and refurbished Francis, Kaplan, and propeller turbine units.
• Perform analytical design calculations for stresses and strains in accordance with industry requirements.
• Produce engineering instructions for manufacturing and installation.
• Organize and participate in design reviews and track engineering budgets/schedules.
• Provide technical support for the manufacturing and installation of turbines or generators.
• Prepare technical bid documentation and participate in root cause identification for problem solving.

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registered with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• 10+ years of experience in hydroelectric turbine design or heavy mechanical structures.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities in English.
• Proficiency in CAD systems and MS Office suite.
• Legal work status in Canada required; available for occasional travel in Canada and abroad.

Nice to have

• Fluency in French (written and oral).
• Manufacturing experience (welding, machining, and/or casting).
• Hands-on site experience.
