Service Technician (Wind Turbines)

TL;DR

Service Technician (Wind Turbines): Repair and maintain wind turbine generators and related equipment at the wind farm with an accent on safety analyses, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades. Focus on troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, conducting root cause analyses, and ensuring 24/7 operational reliability.

Location: Onsite at Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada (B2G 2K8). Must have ability to work in Canada without company sponsorship and be able to travel to the US for onboarding and training. Willingness to travel domestically/internationally ~10% and respond to site within 45 minutes for emergencies.

Salary: $35–$40 CAD hourly (non-exempt) + up to 5% bonus

What you will do

• Repair and maintain wind turbines and equipment, including planned/unplanned maintenance and upgrades.
• Support 24/7 operations with rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call duties.
• Conduct safety analyses for electrical/mechanical hazards and perform LOTO/JSA procedures.
• Assist in root cause analyses for equipment failures and complete accurate documentation in Movilizer.
• Read electrical/hydraulic schematics, use tools, and maintain equipment safely.
• Travel for training and assist other sites as needed.

Requirements

• Speak and understand English fluently for safety communication and instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification/degree in wind/technical/engineering field preferred.
• 0-1 year wind experience (more = higher pay); experience with hand/power tools.
• Ability to climb 100m heights, lift 23kg, work in extreme weather/confined spaces; meet 120kg weight limit.
• Valid driver's license, insurable; pass pre-employment physical and Canadian screening.
• Maintain safety certifications; work medium/high-voltage (certifiable).

• Wind industry certification or degree.
