  • Perform detailed structural analyses of dynamic system components, including the rotor system, control system, and blades.
  • Evaluate static strength and fatigue life using classical hand calculations and finite element analysis for flight and ground loads.
  • Analyze component life and dynamic response of metallic and composite components subject to high and low cycle fatigue.
  • Author structural substantiation reports and other technical documentation to meet program requirements.
  • Support full-scale component ground testing and flight testing, including instrumentation and data reduction.
  • Collaborate with aerodynamics and loads teams to design high-performance propeller and rotor blades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in design and analysis of critical aircraft structures.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS, NASTRAN, or other FE software.
  • Knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance of composites and metallic components.
  • Ability to interpret CAD models and read engineering drawings (NX preferred).
  • Must have valid US work authorization (no sponsorship available).

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in rotorcraft dynamic systems.
  • Familiarity with FAA aircraft and rotorcraft loads and dynamics regulations (FAR Part 23, 27, 33, 35).
  • Experience with static and dynamic loads derivation for VTOL aircraft.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab scripting.

Culture & Benefits

  • Pay-for-performance culture that rewards contributions to company strategy.
  • Dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment.
  • Opportunity to work on revolutionary all-electric aircraft technology.
