TL;DR
Sr. Rotor/Hub Structural Analyst (Aerospace): Analyzing and testing rotor systems, rotor heads, blades, control systems, and other critical metallic and composite aircraft structures with an accent on finite element methods, fatigue life prediction, and dynamic response. Focus on structural substantiation, ground and flight testing, aeroelastic analysis, and developing best practices for VTOL rotorcraft systems.

Location: San Jose, California, United States. The role requires up to 10% travel to hirify.global or supplier facilities.

Base pay: $144,000–$180,000 per year.

Company

hirify.global designs, manufactures, and operates all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for sustainable air mobility.

What you will do

  • Perform structural analyses of rotor systems, control systems, blades, and other dynamically loaded components.
  • Evaluate static strength, fatigue life, damage tolerance, and dynamic response using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
  • Author structural substantiation reports and technical documentation.
  • Support component ground and flight testing, including test requirements, instrumentation, and data reduction.
  • Collaborate with aerodynamics and loads and dynamics teams on propeller and rotor blade development.
  • Develop structural analysis best practices and mentor less-experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and analyzing critical aircraft structures.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS, NASTRAN, or other finite element software.
  • Knowledge of composite fatigue and damage tolerance, plus high- and low-cycle fatigue in metallic components.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings, interpreting CAD models, and using CAD tools; NX is preferred.
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills and experience in a fast-paced design environment.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree and 10+ years of rotorcraft dynamic systems experience.
  • Experience with ground and flight testing of composite aerospace structures.
  • Familiarity with FAA loads and dynamics regulations and rotorcraft certification efforts.
  • Experience with VTOL loads derivation, aeroelastic analysis, Python, or Matlab.

Culture & Benefits

  • Pay-for-performance culture with compensation based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equity, and reasonable accommodations.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
